How MDJunior Works
“MDJunior” is a student run Non-Profit Leadership Society in Atlanta, GA, with a Mission of ‘Inspiring Selfless Service through Mentorship’. The organization focuses on local and global initiatives – bringing together passionate health care professionals including physicians, nurses, administrators, along with middle & high school students, to build a mentoring relationship – all with a special focus on underserved communities.
MDJunior follows a model called the “3 Pillars of Success”:
Knowledge, Skills, and Attitude: these are the core values upon which MDJunior:
I. Knowledge –To build a structured and trusting Mentor – Mentee Relationship and to ensure competence through regular Healthcare Education.
- Regular group meetings covering Academic essentials of healthcare such as First Aid, CPR, Systems of Medicine, Immunology.
II. Skills –To Empower Leadership and technical skills, through Hands on Learning Programs.
- Organized visits to Hospitals , Medical facilities to gain hands on experience.
- Mock-up Practice Sessions and Job Shadows.
III. Attitude –To Inspire a spirit of Selfless Service i.e. Service before Self !!!
- Volunteering at health related community centers, Teen Shelters, Assisted Living Communities.
- Volunteering with Missions, Disaster Services, etc.
